Imagine this. Human beings feeling a part of the earth, aware of the earth, sensitive to our place in the earth ecosystem.
We are so completely out of touch with our biological roots that we seem to live “on” the earth, not with it, or within it.
I flashed on the scene of when little kids see a deer or some other animal and get so excited “look! a deer!” and are genuinely thrilled to see another resident of this earth, and are in awe and wonder of how they live. Even some adults do this.
So I got to thinking about what it would be like to see human beings this way, imagine them this way, wonder about them, feel like that about ourselves.
I many times ponder what animals do as they cruise their habitat, where they sleep, where they eat, how they live and mostly how they can never be disconnected from their earth, our earth. So I wondered that about me, and the rest of us.
We don’t see our homes as habitat, or automobiles as a metal box flying over the surface of the earth, or television as the most bizarre thing ever (staring at a box, grinning or crying like idiots, hell, I’m doing it now) and so on.
I’ll be in touch.
